Ombre Brow and Lip Blush Tattooing
On the day that we begin to create your perfect lips/brows you will come into my salon, where we will have a detailed consultation. This helps me understand what you’re looking for, while I also carefully assess your features to acquire the best possible result.
After this consultation I will then begin to map out the perfect shape to ensure symmetry and balance with your face. You will be able to approve the shape before the procedure begins.
Once you have approved the mapping or shape of the area, a topical numbing cream is applied to keep you comfortable throughout your appointment. Please be aware that i ask all clients to provide their own numbing cream to keep the risk of an allergic reaction to a minimum.
Pre-care
Pre-care are things i will discuss with you to ensure we have the best results. Pre-care includes things like - avoiding anything that thins your blood, for example aspirin, ibuprofen, caffeine and alcohol. Please do not consume anything in those categories 24 hours before the tattooing process.
Avoid chemical peels, laser treatment and strong skin care products before the procedure as this makes the skin extremely sensitive and will result in more pain than usual, with a higher risk of irritation/ uneven healing.
Avoid tinting, threading or waxing brows before the procedure.
I ask this as this could result in a less refined brow mapping process. For lips, please keep well hydrated, use lip balm or even exfoliate them.If you have a history of cold sore’s consult your doctor about taking anti-viral medication before your appointment.
If you have had any filler/Botox please be aware that you must wait at least 2 weeks before having the tattooing done.If you are pregnant/breast feeding please consult your doctor before getting the tattooing done.
After-Care
Brow healing process
Around day four to five, the tattooed area will: Feel itchy, begin to scab, start shedding. This is normal during the healing phase. Do not rub or pick at the area as this may cause pigment loss or scarring.
Healing typically takes three to four weeks for pigment to settle into its true colour.
Brows will appear very dark immediately after the procedure, this is normal and they will lighten 30 to 40% once the healing process is complete.
Proper after-care is essential to ensure the best healing, colour retention, and long-lasting results from your ombre brows or your lip blush tattoo treatment.
Immediately after your appointment or procedure it is normal to experience: Mild redness, slight swelling, tenderness or sensitivity. This usually only lasts a couple of days.
For Two weeks avoid: avoid getting the treated areas wet as much as possible, direct sun exposure.
How to clean your brows: Use a dry cotton tip to gently remove existing aftercare gel twice a day (Morning/night). Use another cotton tip with a small amount of water to gently wipe the brows. Pat them dry then apply a thin layer of aftercare gel.
Avoid using any harsh chemicals or makeup on the Freshley tattooed areas for at least ½ weeks.
Lip Healing Process
After your lip blush tattoo treatment: lips may feel swollen, tender or dry for the first few days. The colour will appear brighter immediately after the procedure although will soften as healing progresses. Keep the lips clean, moisturised and protected using the recommended healing ointment. Avoid picking or peeling any dry or flaking skin.
The lips will also go through a shedding/ ghosting phase, and the colour will gradually appear once healing is complete. Once scabbing has naturally fallen off you can stop using the ointment (usually after 2 weeks)
Touch Up appointment’s
After 4 to 6 weeks, I will get you to come back for a Touch up session to perfect the shape and colour where needed.
Results can last 2 to 3 years before a colour refresh is needed.
